Week in Review | 01
My first weekly newsletter on Substack! Talking about 9 days in Maui with just a carry-on, 20% off a favorite brand, the non-fiction book I'm reading this week & more.
First, let’s get the (obvious) elephant out of the room — I’ve moved the weekly email to Substack! Some of you directly subscribed here, and some of you were on the previous email list and have been added here in order to keep on getting the weekly email that you opted into previously. As always, you can unsubscribe at any time (though of course I hope you’ll stick around). Now you’re able to save posts, share posts, and leave comments so we can chat about things. Substack feels like way more of a two-way street and I’m excited about the switch!
Now, back to the usual programming…
The last time I went to Maui with my family, we all agreed that we needed a little more than a week, so this time around we decided on 9 days and I'm so glad we did. We are pretty mellow travelers, especially to a place like Maui — we lounged at the beach and the pool, went out to dinner, took casual morning walks, and visited the aquarium.
Today’s newsletter is kicking off with what I packed for the trip!1
As always, all of this fit in just a carry-on! The pieces I have are a mix of old and new, but I'll do my best to link similar options when possible. Overall, I loved what I packed and felt like I had plenty of options. For the beach and pool, I layered skirts or shorts with my bikini, and maybe added a button down. Easy and comfortable!

Thought of the Week
Early Access | Freda Salvador Friends & Family Sale
Yesterday was the first day of EARLY ACCESS to the Freda Salvador Friends & Family sale (20% off with THANKSFRIEND). Linking my favorites below, along with some notes…
JADA — The shoes I’m wearing in this post! I wear the black and tan the most and find them extremely work- and mom-life friendly. I also love the metallic gold (or silver!)
ELBA — My brown croc ones are included!! Definitely a top pick. They’re so beautiful and easy to wear. You also can’t go wrong with the black or espresso colors. So classic.
MIKO Tote — While it also comes in black, I highly recommend the Hazel suede! It’s stunning and surprisingly durable thanks to stain-resistant suede (I spilled an entire bottle of water in it on a trip and it still looks like new)
RUBY Bucket Bag — This is a new addition to my lineup after borrowing my friend Ailsa’s and I absolutely love it. It has great structure, holds a bunch of stuff and also has a crossbody strap if you need to be handsfree (note: strap is not removable, but can easily be tucked into the bag)
ROMA — I have the white ones, and I also love the black ones and tan ones — surprise, surprise. They have a SUPER cushy and comfy feel and are better for a wider foot than the JADA in my opinion.
Currently Reading: The Anxious Generation
I really enjoyed this author's previous book, The Coddling of the American Mind (very thought-provoking), so as soon as I heard about this next book by him I knew I wanted to read it. I'll certainly share some thoughts in an upcoming Week in Review.
Until next time!
xx

Do you happen to have a link for the belt in the Maui image? I'm on the hunt for the perfect skinny black belt.
I love the idea of bringing a maxi skirt for a beach to bar coverup. Your outfit photos looked so chic! Also, I've become a "middle part, low bun" girl and it's the best life.
