It’s another edition of Baggy Pants, Big Dog (okay, that’s not officially a series, but maybe it should be?!)
Spring in San Diego means the morning feels freezing (it is not remotely freezing in San Diego) and by early afternoon the sun is shining and I’m overheating. It’s all about the layering this time of year, and I also recognize that sandals plus a sweater is an extremely Southern California thing to do, but I don’t care.
I started with my favorite black tank and checked the weather, immediately realizing a sweater or layer of some kind would be necessary. First I grabbed this black sweater. Even though I love a tonal/monochrome look, I felt like the outfit was lacking dimension. So I reached for the striped shirt for some pattern and felt like I was closer to an end result, but still not quite there. Finally I swapped the black sweater for this tan sweater and I knew I loved the look. This outfit is simple, but has texture, pattern and shape, all of which keep it interesting!
Consider this a reminder that if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. It’s true in life, and it’s true in personal style. Don’t be afraid to experiment a bit and see what new looks you can create with what’s in your closet.
I think I’ve finally settled on the Turnlock Louis but can’t decide which color is going to take me further. Having to only choose brown or black which would be your go-to and carry you best between everyday use and a date night look?
It's the same up in South Bay rn! 52* in the morning, but 85* by school pick up!
