Reflections, updates and a mid-year review of how the year is going.

Six months in.

Halfway through the year.

And somehow, this ‘No Buy’ still feels like the best choice.

When I committed to not buying any new clothes in 2025 (aside from vintage finds and pieces I’ve designed myself or are part of a specific brand collaboration), it was because I genuinely felt like my wardrobe was complete. Not in a rigid, minimalist way, but in the sense that anything I added at that point would’ve been more about the thrill of something new than an actual gap to fill.

The truth is, the option to constantly add more was starting to distract me from what I already had and how much I love it.

This summer has really confirmed that. I’ve been living out of a single suitcase, wearing my Summer Capsule on repeat while traveling for six weeks. And I haven’t missed a thing. If anything, I’ve enjoyed getting even more creative with what I already own. And I even feel like I packed too much and could’ve easily done with less.

That said, in the spirit of being fully transparent with you, I did add a few pieces this month as part of specific brand collaborations:

• 2 Cotton Sweaters (Cream & Dune) — design collaboration

• 2 Cropped Tanks (Cream & Chocolate Brown) — design collaboration

• Black sheer button up shirt — social media partnership

• Sand linen button up shirt — ad campaign

And perhaps most importantly, here are the looks I’ve loved the most this month — overarching theme here is loose bottoms with a fitted top or loose bottoms and loose top. I know that I’m most comfortable in that, especially in the heat, and I’ve relied on it over and over…

Since we are halfway through the year, let’s peek at the items that have been worn 30+ times over the past 6 months:

• Raw hem cropped jeans (30 wears)

• Brown alpaca sweater (30 wears)

• …And not quite a the 30-wear mark, at 23 wears my most worn top is my white cropped tank

I’ll admit, I’m curious to see how it feels to be reunited with my full wardrobe when I get home. I already sense an edit coming. There’s something about having fewer options and leaning into a uniform that works… it brings so much clarity. I love the ease of it all.
