Week in Review #15: My current TV obsessions & early access to the Freda Salvador sale
...plus the fall jewelry that will make your everyday mom looks come together quick!
What shows are you into right now? My top three of the moment: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Selling Sunset and Emily in Paris. They are all very fluffy and mindless and fun, and I can’t get enough. I finished the first two, and am on Episode 8 of Emily in Paris. Some thoughts on each…
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — WOW. The whole time I kept saying to myself, “What is happening?!” The chaos, the drama, it’s all wild and each episode got crazier than the one before.
Selling Sunset — The entire show is obnoxious, but I love it. I’m a sucker for real estate shows like Million Dollar Listing and Owning Manhattan, and while this one is much lighter on the real estate and heavy on the drama, it’s great. Their outfits are all so over-the-top, except for the new gal Alanna. I think I’d wear every single one of her looks on the show!
Emily in Paris — This has quickly become one of my “comfort shows” that I can put on in the background, and the new season just dropped! Of course I’m watching it, and so far I’m loving it. So cheesy, so unrealistic, and that’s what makes it great. (Let it be known — I am and will always be on Team Alfie.)
And lastly, there is one show I cannot wait to watch that is totally a different genre — Silo, Season 2. I was obsessed with the first season, devoured the book series and cannot wait until the next season of the show comes out in November!
P.S. Did you see that the LIEN collection is back! Truly wearing these on repeat and they’re so good for pairing with your fall looks. They instantly level up and add polish to your jeans & tee — perfect for busy moms that want to look cool and feel put together in a snap. Here are 4 more outfit ideas for you in case you’re looking for styling inspiration:
Thought of the Week
Early Access to FRĒDA Salvador Sale
Want 20% off my favorite pieces from Freda Salvador? You are in luck. I’ve got early access to their Friends & Family sale, and of course that means that you do as well! See my personal picks below (all of which I own & wear), and see everything included in the sale here — use FALLFRIENDS at checkout to apply the discount.
MIKO TOTE — SO luxe and well constructed. A perfect work and/or travel tote. See it styled >
RUBY BUCKET BAG — Also has a crossbody strap and holds a lot more than I expected! See it styled >
JADA BALLET FLATS — The square toe gives these a fresh, modern look that I love. These are my go-to ballet flats for sure. See them styled >
ROMA BALLET FLATS — This style is newer, but oh-so-comfortable with the rounded toe and super cushy footbed. The woven ones are my favorite, especially the Umber color. See them styled >
BROOKE BOOTS — The coolest weather-friendly boots ever. I always reach for these boots when it’s rainy or drizzly outside, and have even worn them to the snow with warm socks. They look chunky, but are super lightweight and very comfortable to walk in (I’ve even wore them for an entire day of walking around in London). See them styled >
ELBA PENNY LOAFERS — These are a fall DREAM!! I will be wearing them all season long (and beyond). See them styled >
What I Wore This Week (And The Week Before!)
This past week was full of tees, knits, and some epic tall boots, which you can see below in my favorite look of the week below! I will be repeating this look with different tops & blazers for sure — it feels like an ideal summer-to-fall transition look for me. You can see all of the week’s looks here.
September Moodboard
For my September moodboard, I wanted to bring together a sense of effortless elegance and relaxed luxury (let’s be real — this is ALWAYS what I’m going for). As we ease into fall, it’s all about enjoying simple moments—like a coffee at your favorite café or flipping through a good book—while maintaining a timeless, understated style. This collection of inspiration reflects my love for blending everyday ease with chic, thoughtful touches that elevate any outfit.
Currently Reading & Recent Saves
You Will Never Be Me — Ohhhhh, this one is so good. The two main characters are social media influencers and they talk a lot about metrics & partnerships and such, but I still think it would be a good read even if you’re not on social media or familiar with the ins and outs of the industry.
How to Win Friends & Influence People — How have I never read this book?! The principles are so simple and apply to personal & business scenarios. It’s a great read and I’d recommend this for anyone and everyone.
10x is Easier than 2x — This one just arrived and I haven’t started it yet, but I’m curious about it. I’ll report back if it’s good!
Now, some interesting posts that I’ve read and saved recently that I think you’d enjoy as well…
No, I’m Not Always Available | “How can you fully appreciate someone if you never get the chance to miss them or wonder what they’re up to? There’s nothing special about keeping in touch anymore, we killed it. We took all the sentiment out of it. When we’re always reachable, there’s no such thing as truly reaching out. And the worst part is, when you’re always available to everyone you’re not fully available to anyone. Certainly not to the people right next to you.”
'People Keep Insulting My Gray Hair! Should I Dye It?' | “What is realistic – and necessary, I think – is questioning the value of beauty-based judgments (as opposed to, say, behavior-based judgments) and challenging the ageist appearance standards that earn us (women, primarily) the outside approval we crave.”
If You Feel Like You've Lost Your Style, Try The One-Hour Fix | “Here’s a task that will take you around an hour, doesn’t involve buying anything and will give you a handful of outfit formulas that you can deploy throughout the season ahead and leave you feeling prepared and ultimately LOVING what you’re wearing…”
Hope you have a great weekend — until next time!
xx
