Week in Review #45: The Highs, the Lows, and the Details in Between
A week of texture, tired moments, and trusting the process
We’re mid-July and officially in the heart of summer. Between drop prep, exciting product design projects, and soaking up slow moments with my family, it’s been a full but grounding month so far. That said — I’m tired. Really tired. It’s likely a whiplash effect after returning from Spain, but man it is hitting me like a ton of bricks. Feeling on the verge of a mental breakdown this week reminded me how important it is to protect my energy during busy seasons like this one and to prioritize both good nutrition and good rest. I’ve been working on getting to bed earlier, journaling to help process the chaos, and giving myself a bit more grace.
Thought of the Week
Carmel Recap
We had such a special time up in Carmel last weekend for a special event at Tejido. The energy was relaxed but vibrant, and I loved getting to connect with so many of you in person. IRL events always remind me how powerful it is to bring the brand into real life — off screens, in the community.

If you’re planning a trip to Carmel soon, be sure to stop by. Our shop-in-shop will be set up there through December, and we’ll continue refreshing the space with seasonal edits and exclusives.
July Mood
This month’s mood is equal parts raw and refined — morning espresso with a good book, salt-soaked afternoons, gold links catching light, and the kind of beauty you don’t have to chase. It’s about soft structure, sun-warmed textures, and the quiet magnetism of being yourself.
Authenticity is magnetic. That’s the energy I’m carrying through the rest of the month.

What’s New at NBD
The Texture Edit is Live | This week’s drop is all about dimension and detail — sunlit golds, rich textures, and elevated essentials you’ll reach for all season and beyond. My personal favorite? The new textured Marlowe Link Chain. It layers beautifully with everything and I love how the textured links catch the light. I’ve been wearing this one all summer! We’re excited to offer it in three different finishes — gold vermeil, 925 sterling silver and 14k gold.
Coming Soon: Our Freda Salvador Collab | Early next month, we’re launching something that feels truly special: a collaboration flat with Freda Salvador. We’ve been quietly working on this for the past year, and I can’t wait to share more. They’re timeless, elevated, and endlessly wearable — just how I like it.
What I’m Wearing on Repeat
Brown leather Natalie Belt (coming soon)
The Cream and Dune cotton sweaters from my collaboration with Sold Out NYC (Come try them on in person if you’re local to Southern California — they’ll be in store on Thursday, 7/24 and you’ll have a chance to win $1,000 in gift cards)
Currently Reading
What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown. It begins in Montana where the main character and her dad are living a slower, more intentional life in their cabin — low-tech, off the grid, in harmony with nature. But as the story unfolds, that idyllic, simple dream starts to unravel and I’m extremely curious where this book is taking me. It’s beautifully written and quietly haunting, with just enough mystery to keep me turning the pages without being my typical fast paced thriller. Enjoying it so far!
Looking Ahead
Between our late summer and early fall drops, retail space refreshes, and our event on Thursday (!!!) in Solana Beach with Sold Out NYC and Reed Vintage, things aren’t slowing down just yet. But I’m focused on slowing myself down wherever I can — sleep, nourishment, journaling, walking by the coast and saying no when it counts.
Thanks for reading and for following along through the polished moments and the behind-the-scenes reality of building an intentional brand. I'm so glad you're here.
xx
