This is amazing! Would love a post breaking down anything you’ve done the last year or more, to really hone your personal style and get this place. Was it finding brands you really aligned with, looking for inspiration in specific places, playing with your own closet more etc? Also, how did you know your closet felt complete? Did you feel like you were no longer constantly searching for something to add, did getting dressed for the day or special occasions just feel easy? I’d really like to get here myself, but still feel unsure how to get there!

Great topics for me to explore!!

This! I feel like I’m trying but not getting close enough to a place where I feel complete with my wardrobe.

I would love to hear about that too.

Who am I when I stop trying to be somebody else? BOOM

Right?!

Ooo love this, it’s inspiring! I would really appreciate if you could put together some sort of post showing your entire wardrobe. I’m definitely in the building stage of the process and would love to get to feeling like my wardrobe is complete

Working on that using Indyx! About halfway through cataloging everything.

I can’t wait to see more, Natalie!

Hot tip for anyone using Indyx — it can be a slog to take photos of your items yourself, snag flatlays of your item from the brand site, when you can. I have also started to do this as new items make their way into my wardrobe.

Love this! I see the struggle of many friends and family members that overbuy and don’t live within their means. Trying to teach my kids the value of our experiences and time together is better than the stuff. Looking forward to your journey!

Love this! I’m so tired of the “throw away” pieces from many influencers these days- the “you have to have in every color” concept. It is so wasteful. Btw, I absolutely love the Wren dress but does it really show side boob 🫣 or is it adjustable to avoid that.

It's adjustable and you can tie it several ways, but I do think the side boob is unavoidable and is part of the vibe of the dress, haha.

"A well-loved wardrobe, after all, is one that evolves with us, growing richer with each memory tied to the pieces we choose to wear." YES! Like you, I feel like my wardrobe is complete (or at least 90% of the way there) and that's because I started being very selective about what & where I shop. I appreciate your outfit inspiration- we have nearly identical styles - and I'm really looking forward to checking out your Indyx. Thanks for being a voice of moderation in an era of overconsumption. 😁

Cheers to more of this! I love using social media as a form of inspiration…duh that’s how I found you. But in so many online corners it has morphed from inspired to marketed. Thank you for leading the way and using your platform as a tool for good instead of perpetuating a constant cycle of consumption.

P.S. Love shifting the perspective to a completed wardrobe. That idea is foundational for me as I continue to identify the gaps in my closet and helps create the focus I need. Thanks again!!!

This is so refreshing!

I am definitely buying less and less each year and getting closer to my “feel good” wardrobe!! Exceptions for me are pieces I may need for events, and a few pieces to refresh things from season to season!!

I am also doing a nobuy year with exception same as yours. I am definitely nervous as my body changes a lot after having a baby. Please do let us know your indyx page, would love to follow you there. Love everything about you. Thank you 🤩😗♥️

Be kind to yourself with body changes. I’m at a different stage of life - perimenopause - and had a big change in weight but also shape. Even my feet! (No one told me about that). So I needed to do a wardrobe rebuild. There’s no point feeling miserable in clothes that don’t fit. This year, though, I’m set up with my new wardrobe, I feel good in my “new” body, and I’ll be buying very little. Post baby will be different again. You’ve made a new life. That’s an amazing thing that your body has done. You may need a “low buy” year rather than a no buy year until your body settles, and that’s totally ok.

Love this! I have adored the outfits you posted in this write up. Especially the black shirt on horseshoe denim. It’s saved on my phone. Hope we get to see you wear that outfit again next year.

This is so great and I feel like so many people are yearning for a shift like this. It’s been so many years of pushing over-consumerism out there and I think many have hit their limits. I personally am really grappling with how I fit into the webbing of trying to make money via a platform that is basically one big ad but also not ask people to worship at the altar of consuming. It’s definitely something I’ve been ruminating on. But only buying from small (women owned!) sustainable brands is certainly a step in the right direction. So glad you’re doing this and so excited for the topics it will bring up for us all to reflect on.
