Week in Review | 03
An evening in LA, packing orders, comfy clothes, and reading too many books at one time.
This week has been full, but in a good way. I spent Wednesday evening in LA to celebrate a store opening of a brand I’ve admired for a while and just recently started to wear personally — Ozma of California. We arrived in the afternoon for a little shopping, stayed for the event, and then finished the night with an excellent dinner at Loreto.
Here are a few photos from the night (also, you can use Natalie15 for 15% off at Ozma!)…
Also this week, my brand launched sunglasses for the first time ever (and immediately sold out), so I spent the whole day yesterday packing up orders and felt grateful for every minute of it. I’m overwhelmed by the support for our recent product releases and so happy that I get to do this for a living. I read something really interesting last night that I very much related to…
“Every time I decided to let go of something that wasn't working for me or making me unhappy, a space was opened up for something more aligned to come into my life. Without fail, those spaces were filled with something better than what I had been so desperately clinging to.”
— Kristen Powers, ‘Winners’ Know When to Quit
Leaving behind things that aren’t working for us can feel like the end of something, but when you let go at the right time and for the right reasons, it opens up so many new possibilities. I’ve experienced this over and over again in my adult life and my current season feels like the “something better” she describes at the end of that quote.
Not every week is a great one, but I’m definitely ending this one on a high note.
Thought of the Week
“Do things for your own satisfaction. Consider praise from others to be a bonus. If you don’t work for their validation in the first place, you won’t need it to feel satisfied once it’s done.”
What I Wore This Week
Here are a few outfits I wore this week! But first, for those of you who have made it this far, I have a quick question…
Currently I do (almost) daily posts with outfits, and then this weekly post for the Week in Review. Do you like this, or would you prefer if the everyday outfits are condensed into a once-a-week post (sort of like what I’m going to share below)? That would mean just 2 posts a week here on Substack. Please let me know your preference in the poll below if you have a second!
Okay, on to the outfits now!
MONDAY: A casual French-inspired look with my Clare V bag in honor of the code I got — Natalie15 for 15% off until 5/6. My top picks are included in the post, along with the outfit links of course.
TUESDAY: Double denim for a meeting with THATCH. We have some good things on the horizon, including the necklace I’m wearing below! Also, I really love this coordinating denim set.
WEDNESDAY: Kept it simple & monochrome for the Ozma event, wearing the two pieces I have from the brand — a crop tee & loose trousers. I paired them with my favorite loafers (15BORTON for your first order) and have to say I felt great wearing this all day!
THURSDAY: Another tank and jeans, but way more casual (plus a sweater!) for a day full of order packing!
Currently Reading…three books 🙃
My stack of fiction and non-fiction books is high right now, and I started three of them this week. (Not sure that was a great idea, but I couldn’t help myself.)
Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from Each Other by Sherry Turkle
Self-Made: Creating Our Identities from Da Vinci to the Kardashians by Tara Isabella Burton
The Fury by Alex Michaelides
Until next time!
xx

I love your [nearly] daily outfit posts here! I think it moves away from the haul-esque sense I get from weekly round-up posts that have become so prevalent in the SM world. Regardless, I'm so thankful you've moved here!
Also, when I typed nearly, my brain immediately thought "Nearly headless? What makes him nearly headless??" 🤣
so happy to find you on substack now! I deleted social media 5 years ago and missed following influencers I used to follow who didn't have personal newsletters, etc. The pace of substack is nice, it can sit in my email and I can go to it intentionally without the endless scroll etc.
