Week in Review #14: So many good things are coming.
It took a bit to get into the groove, but we are on a roll now!
Back in July I can remember a conversation I had with my team about how I felt like we had been designing things for so long, yet it felt like we had very few new products. It was a big year of creative progress, and the truth is, when I re-launched this business last fall, I also started fresh with our artisan and manufacturing partners. That naturally takes some trial and error, and a while to figure out and get into a rhythm. I’m so happy to say that we not only have established some really incredible partners, but also have a solid lineup for fall and lots of exciting things on the horizon, several of which you can read about in today’s newsletter.
In a nutshell — restocking my favorite earring & ring combo, suede bags with brass handles, our first-ever belt design, 80’s-inspired sunglasses, a design partnership with one of my favorite brands and more. We also will be doing several events this fall…
September 28: Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA
November 16: San Francisco, CA
Early December: Nashville, TN
…and maybe one or two more if we find the time! More details to come on each of these events — I would love to meet you if you’re in the area!
Overall, things are finally coming to fruition and I’m excited to share it all with you. A business is nothing without its customers and cheerleaders and not a day goes by that I’m not immensely grateful for each and every one of you that’s in our corner — wearing our pieces, telling your friends, or just sending an encouraging note. It really means the world!
Thought of the Week
What I Wore This Week (And The Week Before!)
I’m back on track with my “What I Wore This Week” series, complete with a recap of the end of August and what I’ve worn so far in September. My favorite look is below, and you can see them all here.
Coming Soon
As promised, here’s a little preview of what you can expect from Natalie Borton Designs this month…
SEPTEMBER 18TH: We are finally restocking our beloved NBD x THATCH LIEN earrings and ring, the perfect pairing to go with your jeans & tee for fall. Just add loafers — so chic!
SEPTEMBER 24TH: We are launching a fall bag with our friend Abby Alley and I am truly obsessed with it. Here’s a first look at The Mara Bag in the two colors it’ll be available in, and you can see full product details here.
SEPTEMBER 30TH: Our first-ever belt (with a 600 person waitlist!) goes live online on the last Monday of the month, but if you come to our Carmel-by-the-Sea event, you will get to see and shop The Natalie Belt in person first!
As always, I recommend being on the 1st Dibs List and/or the NBD Text List to be the first to shop whenever new products are available.

House of Glass — I just finished
You Will Never Be Me — I started this one this week!
Now, some interesting posts that I’ve read and saved recently that I think you’d enjoy as well…
Exploring Personal Taste in an Algorithm Era | “To me, that is ‘taste’ — knowing who you are, what you like, and using discernment to collect pieces in the world that resonate with you. It’s also knowing what you don’t like.”
How to Update Your Style *Without* Shopping | “Editing your wardrobe gives you the chance to eliminate wardrobe dead ends—those items that never quite worked or are too hard to incorporate into a cohesive outfit. To build a closet you love, you need to be a ruthless editor, keeping only the best and brightest. Focus on the mantra, ‘all killer, no filler.’”
Same, Same, I Know Your Name | “But one thing that this focus has spawned, is a lack of sartorial identity. We’re so obsessed with what we’re buying or not buying, we’ve lost sight of what we intrinsically want to wear. The true essence of our non-verbal communication cue to the world. The noise is so loud, we’ve lost our way.”
Fresh Ideas to Revive Your Fall Uniforms | “Sometimes you just need to think outside the box and put your thinking hat on. I carved out some time to play in my wardrobe and peruse some new possibilities using my existing items to shake things up a little. Thanks to my 365 no buy, I get so excited by the challenge of making my existing pieces feel fresh, and new again.”
Hope you have a great weekend — until next time!
xx
