What I Wore This Week | 03
An accidentally twinning moment, a gorgeous backless top, corduroy jackets (again!) and more...
For those who are invested in the perioral dermatitis situation — it’s still there, but rapidly improving!! I’ve been on antibiotics and an ointment prescribed by my dermatologist, and I also have been using this azelaic acid after hearing so many good things from others who have had this same issue. I’m so happy I can’t really feel it anymore, and while it’s definitely not gone, it’s getting close an I’m relieved.
It’s been a very interesting experience honestly — and dare I say I’m very thankful for it?! It’s been humbling in the best way and it’s forced me to come face to face with my values and beliefs about beauty and self-expression and worthiness. Do I miss having super clear skin? I sure do! But I’ve learned that just like I do not care if someone’s skin isn’t smooth & blemish free, nobody else really cares either. And you can wear a cool outfit no matter what your skin or body looks like, so there’s always that!
Now, here’s what I wore this past week…1
TUESDAY: I brought a sweater into work with me, but barely needed it. It turned out to be such a gorgeous day and perfect for a tank & cropped trouser.
Niki (she handles finance for Natalie Borton Designs) showed up for a meeting at the office wearing almost exactly the same thing and we couldn’t get over it — what are the chances?!
WEDNESDAY: I kept it pretty minimal with black & denim. I’m telling you, these corduroy jackets are the layers I didn’t even know I was missing from my wardrobe. They’re so easy to wear!
THURSDAY: We had a shopping event for the launch of our Natalie Borton Designs x THATCH collection and I grabbed two of my favorite pieces — high neck black tank & green cargo pants. I also wore this outfit (minus the heels) in Africa — proof of the power of a versatile and well-edited wardrobe!
FRIDAY: This look is simple & neutral in color, with texture and pattern to keep it interesting! These trousers are for sure one of my core wardrobe pieces — so comfortable and easy to wear, and they work all year long. And yes, they definitely have an elevated feel and are perfect for the office, and I promise you they are also very mom-friendly!
SATURDAY: I got a last-minute ticket to a Mother’s Day Brunch hosted by my friend Shiloh’s company, We Drink Bubbles, and decided to go for a monochromatic look. This top is SO FUN — serious and conservative in the front with the most stunning open back design. I completed the look with gold earrings and a ring from the Natalie Borton Designs x THATCH collection.
SUNDAY: Mother’s Day definitely felt like a great reason to bust out a dress. I paired it with an olive back for a tonal look, as well as the same gold earrings and ring I wore the day before.
MONDAY: My friend Katie designed a collection with ABLE and generously gifted me the cardigan, which arrived over the weekend. I love the brown stripe details and that it’s really lightweight and soft — perfect for San Diego weather all year long.
Until next time!
xx

Natalie-your colleague Niki looks like you! Love all the team’s style and that you are sharing those details as well.
Any chance you could share where Niki’s brown tee is from? Been looking for one just like it!
