What I Wore This Week #6: Mini skirts, wide leg pants and double denim
Hate the micro short, love the mini skirt.
You’ll definitely notice some themes this week and get a peek into where my head was at — 3 different mini skirt outfits, 2 double denim looks and 3 outfits with wide leg jeans. The mini skirt isn’t something I expected to love, but after I wore the brown mini dress in Mexico, I feel like I was kind of primed to try it out this season. Then I rediscovered my denim mini skirt, and shortly after that my friends at Noble sent me their new wrap mini skort (styled below) and before I knew it, I went all-in on the mini.
Are my veins and cellulite out on display? Of course they are — I am 37 after all! But you know what? They also show when I wear shorts and I got over that years ago so the mini skirt really isn't any different. When it comes to fashion, I believe in wearing what you want and what feels like YOU — and I think all of the looks below very much fall into that way of thinking.
Here are all of those aforementioned looks I wore this past week…1
TUESDAY: This outfit really made me happy and checked off all of my boxes — effortless, elevated and cool. I am really loving the comeback of the mini skirt!
WEDNESDAY: After thinking about this blazer for years, I finally bought one this year and I can’t believe I waited so long. It’s sustainably made from vintage mens’ suits and each one is unique. I love it so much!
THURSDAY: Mini skirt strikes again! This time I grabbed my old Madewell mini skirt that was hiding in a drawer I was cleaning out recently — a great example of a time when I’m glad I didn’t edit my closet too vigorously, haha. I decided to go double denim with black accessories and woven textures.
FRIDAY: This outfit sealed the deal on a new outfit formula I unlocked for myself — shacket & mini! A perfect mix of casual & elevated, and so comfortable.
SATURDAY: Admittedly I spent most of the day in my pajamas! But when it finally came time to change for a birthday party at the beach, I decided double denim was the perfect plan and it proved to be true. The patchwork jacket is a Freda Salvador x Born to Roam Vintage collaboration and only available in the store (you could call to see if they have more!).
SUNDAY: Completely forgot to take a photo of this one, so here’s this selfie with part of the outfit shown will have to do for now. I also wore this bag with this tortoise strap and these sunglasses. Oh, and this ring, too!
MONDAY: I stuck to the basics with a tank, blazer and wide leg jeans. I usually go for my racerback tank, but decided to change things up and wear the scoop neck one. The back has a slightly lower scoop that is really lovely.
Until next time!
